Any one with experience with this HID Kit ...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123 I'm thinking of the 6000K for headlights and fog. Seems reasonable for the price and I'm aware of the mods that need to be done to the fog light caps. So $200 gets me: 6000K Xenon Headlight Bulb D2C replacements 6000K Xenon Fog Bulb replacements with ballasts and wiring harness My main concern is will the D2C be bad compared to a D2S? I would like to see if any one has feedback from first-hand experience or any comments too. Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 12-08-2008 at 10:26 PM. |

yeah Fishcake is alright. I'm in the middle of sorting a busted up set of headlamps he shipped over to Australia for me. It was busted when it got here and I'm awaiting a refund. He's fast with the shipping and as long as you communicate clearly with him, he's good to deal with. It was just a shame my set broke on its way over here. I blame EMS/Australia Post.
He was nice enough to offer me a refund so in my books, someone who I do not know, lives thousands of miles away and does this is a decent bloke.

1) Did you feel EMS/Australia Post was to blame because it was packaged carefully and was still damaged? 2) You're also waiting on a refund but haven't received it yet? Can I ask how long you've been waiting for a refund? 3) Where did your package originate? The listing says it's already in the USA. |

Hey CroC,
Let me know how you go when all done with the conversion as I'm thinking of doing something similar. Sorry to hear your headlamps got broken in transit. Twins; Looking forward to your outcome as well. Sorry I didn't mean to hijack your thread

You might want to try www.ddmtuning.com, long time sponsor for bimmerforums. For less than $200, you can have a set of hid fogs, lows, and angel eyes. The only downside is they are swamped right now. They were still catching up to their bf special I just ordered a set of hid kit last Thursday. Hopefully it gets shipped out this week.

I don't feel you're hijacking at all ... or are you?! BTW ... I did see this for only $120 (on special) but it's just for the fogs: http://www.stealthauto.com/Products/...Kit__HID-.aspx |

Okay here's a link:
http://www.ddmtuning.com/ap55wwesa.html However, I have a concern about these in the description: It is a fully digital ballast and integrated ignitor design that has an analog under/over voltage input circuit that does two things. First of course, it senses the input voltage from your car and will shut the ballast off if the incoming voltage is below 9V or above 32V. Its second function is that as the lights are starting up, the circuit functions to act as a stand-in for the bulb during computer self checks. While this works on early detection circuits like those on most BMWs, there are some car makes like Mercedes and Chrysler that use more advanced self diagnostics and those may require the BOW-3 Bulb Out Warning Adapters. But when operating normally, the ballast is totally digital and works amazingly well with all the speed and arc control accuracy of a fully digital design to ensure long bulb life. Is there a big disadvantage if these are not fully digital ballasts? (says they are but ...) Does this mean they will flicker at startup? Eh, $40 bucks so can't expect much I guess. BMWs don't have as advanced self-diags as Chryslers?! |

Hey Jose.
Let me know how your lighting mod turn out. I am also interested in changing out my factory hid bulb into maybe 6000k. Plus where did you get your angel eye bulb from and did you move the bulb farther back from the housing ? PS Check this link out. http://cgi.ebay.com/FLEXIBLE-LED-STR...742.m153.l1262 I know you took off your OE Headlight maybe there is room for this |
