headlight switch question....

I have my hands on a headlight switch that has the button for the rear fogs (yes, i'm aware of the retrofit issues). The only thing is that the switch is for non-adaptive xenon lights (I have adaptive lights). I was wondering if I could still use this switch and if I did, would it affect my adaptive headlights?

Thanks in advance!

Hhmm ... I wouldn't think it would matter with adaptive vs non-adaptive as long as the switch is for a xenon equipped vehicle. Let me see what I can find. Now you got me curious.

Best GUESS is nope won't work. There's a separate part# for adaptive vs. non-adaptive switches - for both kinds of switches (rear fog or non).

Are you trying to use the rear fog to control your AEs or something else? If its the AEs, please do a DIY as I don't think the DIY on the homepage would work for face-lift models (w/o modifications). Again, I don't know for sure, but that's my ASSUMPTION.

I'm doing rear fogs. My dealer has agreed to the work and i've presented them with all the details. I just need to get the parts now...... They will also try ot turn off the turn signal bulbs when the switch is in the 1st position (like euro models) so that just the angels come on when in 1st position and just the xenons and angels in the 2nd position...

Should have paid attention to your location.

Why does Euros get all the good options ... while over here we have to do all kinds of mods to just get that look. How many times has someone asked to get euro clear HLs or turn off the signals, etc.

Well good luck and let us know how you make out. I'm sure others would be interested in your results!

The comment about location was referring to adding rear fog. Usually people here don't care about that. It was a bad assumption on my part that you wanted the rear fog switch for AEs and not the actual rear fog.

I assumed you didn't have euro spec vehicle, since you already mentioned you want to add euro-spec options.

No problem, seeing as I was the one that was confused FIRST!

I am VERY curious though about how things turn out for you. I've seen plenty of posts asking how to get the euro spec options that you're talking about. So, when you have success - please share your valuable experience.

I am actually planning on doing this and was going to buy the switch soon. Can you post some pictures of the switch back, front, assembly insides, etc?
