ACS Brake Handle Help

Hi guys,

For those of you who replaced your pedals with ACS aluminum pedals: Seems like an easy enough thing to do, but I can't figure it out. The new handle comes with three holes for screws, but I can't find them in the OEM handle. I've got the leather cover off, but I can't find where I need unscrew the brake handle cover. Do I have to peel the cover completely off (meaning, tearing the stitches and taking the whole cover off?)

Help?

Juan

That’s cause there are no screws on the OEM handle.

Have a bowl of wheaties, then simply pull while twisting the handle outwards and give it all you got.

The OEM handle doesn't have any screws. It's just a "slip-on". So...to remove the OEM brake handle, just cut the zip tie from the cover and pull (or tug) it straight out. It's a bit tough to do, but that's all there is to it.

Also, look at this page for step-by-step handle replacement => http://www.bimmian.com/elements/page...ht/BRA/BRA.gif

Thanks, guys! With your hel, Rob_'s help and JV's help, I got it out. I kinda figured it was tightly slipped on. I just did not want to start hammering without checking...

Pics! I am jealous that you have a silver button on your ACS e-brake handle, mine is the orginal black one. That will bug me all through the holidays until I can find one! HA!

Merry Christmas bro, hope you and Liz and the family have a great one.

did my X3 earlier this year

Not ACS, but M-Tec pedals and ebrake handle. Once you get in there, you'll figure it out. See attached pic of my updated interior.

Cheers!

I left the original button on there... could not figure out how to take it off. Thanks for your help, Kevin! Merry Christmas to you and Candice.
