Back to the X Family

Greetings All,

Former driver of a 2006 X3. That went away in 2009. Just got back into a 2010 X5 4.8i. Yes, I know it is a V8

Space Gray, Premium, Premium Sound, Sport, Cold, Rear Climate, Tech Packages, Adaptive Drive, 20" staggered wheels, spare tire and so on. Enjoying it a lot so far and it is under a bumper-bumper warranty for the next 6 months. After that, I'm on my own

I've got a 2008 135ic that this is replacing, so if anyone is looking for a fun summer car in the Northeast you might want to PM me.

Hopefully all my posts will be about fun upgrades (already got the map data to load) and not about major repairs. I do have a small nuisance noise in the truck/hatch area and I've been reading about how to resolve that.

Let the fun begin! Searching for a winter tire and wheel package to start.

Ok here you go

I love these seats and presume they are the sport seats?

Welcome!
Check you front tires for alignment issues. This was the first thing I tackle on mine.

Thanks that is good advice. As part of the dealer preparation they did a wheel balancing, 4 wheel alignment, oil service and rear brake service (rotors and pads). So I'm going down the road very nicely

Here are some more pics:

The window switch panel is one area showing wear, the classic rubberized plastic issue. I may source a new one of these if they are not too expensive.

Love the wheel

I'll be using a ski box in the winter so some Thule cross rails are going to be attached this fall.

Dealer alignments are notoriously off. This is because the spec is so broad .. from their perspective, as long as the settings are in the "green zone", your alignment is "within spec".

Do yourself a favor and ask the dealer for the printout of the alignment values (they exist. they are in the machine's memory by VIN). Post them here. We'll recommend what the toe-in and camber values should be. You don't wan to find out 5,000 mi down the road when your massive 20" RFT tires are worn beyond repair!

Beautiful car BTW! Same color combo as mine (2012 50i).
