Try this...
Happened to me after I replaced the wiper blade with the recommended Bosch replacement...
Turned out it didnt stop, it was "stuck" because the blade was too long and hitting the top of the brake light/spoiler. Check it out... hopefully it's this simple. I went to a blade that was 1" shorter. Good Luck

It seems like it's jammed and not moving at all, no sound or anything. I checked all the fuses twice.
What did you do? Change the blade? |

Mine was an easy fix - I just unjammed the blade by lifting up on it... went to the auto parts store 5 minutes later and purchased a 1" shorter blade. Lucky for me, it didn't burn out my motor or blow a fuse.
Does the blade appear to be stuck on the "high" point (ie the directly under the brake light?). I suppose if you were careful, you could try releasing the assembly, then latching it back (as if you were changing out the blade) and then turn on the wipers. Just don't let it snap back or you could damage your X! Not sure if you have the same problem as I did, but it's worth a check - - it's possible too that if you DID have the same problem, it could have stuck first, and as a result of being stuck, toasted a fuse or <god forbid> a wiper motor.

I had a problem with mine, as well. In my case, the circuit board attached to the rear wiper motor failed. Check this thread for the details:
http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...er-broken.html If none of the other suggestions here have helped, your best bet would be take the panel off of the hatch and check the voltage at the connector. While you're in there, take the plastic cover off of the motor's control board and see if there is any "burnt" smell or if you can see anything obvious. It's been a while since I took everything apart, but most of the pieces are held in place by clips. There are some screws holding the lower piece on, I think in the grip "handles" and maybe also behind the lights. Hope this helps... |
